Mark Wagner is a digital and traditional artist and teacher. He has worked as a Concept Artist in the film and game industry, creating art at Pixar for the Disney feature film – John Carter, and for fantasy and sci-fi films including Terminator 3, and Hallmark Entertainment’s DreamKeeper. He has worked as Art Director, Production Designer, Matte Painter, Author, Film Maker, Musician, and Creativity Consultant.
With a Masters Degree in “Arts and Consciousness,” Wagner specializes in visionary art, and has an in-depth understanding in the psychology of visual arts, symbolism, mythology, shamanism, and storytelling. He creates illustrations, web and graphic design, and has illustrated and written the book, "The Art of Being a Dad," now avaiable as ebook (excellent on an ipad). Recent clients include the Smithsonian Institution - National Museum of Natural History.
Wagner is an internationally known street painter / chalk drawing artist. He created the nonprofit Drawing on Earth (org), which inspires art and creativity in youth and communities around the world. Their first event set a Guinness World Record for the largest pavement art in the world. He has created 5 pieces of art that have been photographed by satellite. Recent clients include Genentech, SpaceX, and CBS Interactive. Lectures through the LAZER Art & Science series at the University of San Francisco Stanford University, and UC Berkeley. Wagner draws at schools, festivals, and for corporate events.
More recently Wagner has worked as a scenic painter and designer at DaVinci Fusion, an events production company in Northern CA. Recent clients: San Francisco Academy of Science, and the Concours d'Elegance Auto show. He also teaches art and creativity in elemetary schools, digital colleges, grad school, and state prison.
Mark Wagner is the Hearts & Bones Studio.
